So, I was thinking about reunions, and how I could offer a service to them. Everyone usually brings their cameras, but wouldn’t be nice to enjoy the reunion and let someone else take the pictures. You can even have pictures taken of each family that would be a  fun keepsake.  As I thought of this I realized that a scrapbook of  these photographs would be even better.  A yearbook of the family like the ones you had when you were in school, but instead of teachers and students, it would be your family and maybe the history of it!  A few years ago I put a booklet together for my church’s 100th anniversary. It was a task but everyone enjoyed it.

We can do a small scrapbook of the family with information and/or anecdotes, or a full history of the family.  You would supply the pictures and information. I would design the layout and prepare it for publishing. Now this might sound like more than you’d want to do, well we can do websites too. Have a website made with the same information and pictures and skip the publishing cost.  It would be a way for the family to share the information for the following generations.

So, I’ve fallen in love with doing restorations. I think it’s wonderful to save an old photograph. Here’s one I just finished of my Great Grandparents. It’s dated February 1925.

creativeLIVE Posing Masterclass with Bambi Cantrell.

I really wish I could watch all of this. So far I’ve already learned so much from watching about thirty minutes of it. I love learning new styles and trying new things. I really enjoyed Bambi here as her style is a lot like mine. I spent a few years in art school and I really relate to the artistic side of photography. I also like to catch candid moments when photographing my subject. Watching this has me wanting to do some glamour. Anyone want to get dressed up and feel like a movie star?!

Spring is nearly here and with Easter and Mother’s day to celebrate may I suggest portraits as gifts! We’re currently celebrating ourselves with 50% off our sitting fee. Book soon to secure a date.  Also, we’re discounting Engagement and Bridal at 50%, and Weddings get 25% off!

When booking your session with us I try to find out what you have in mind. Currently we only shoot on location. So, we also decide where you’d like to be photographed. My goal when taking your pictures is to capture the true you. No smiles on cue, I want you to laugh and smile because you feel it. It really changes the photographs because the smile is from your heart!

Then it’s post production time and that’s where the magic happens.   Sometimes it’s just a few tweaks and sometimes it’s more stylized. We also create versions especially for sharing on the internet and for printing.  After editing, retouching, and adding treatments to a select few, your photographs are written on a disk just for you.  All of that can take up to 2 weeks depending on the number of photographs I took during your session. All of this to make your photographs unique.

When I was deciding how to charge for my services I had a lot of ideas. I wanted to keep things simple so your experience was as pleasant as possible. I also wanted to keep my prices in a range that made me competitive but also gave you a great deal.  So, I’ve simplified everything  for your convenience. I might charge a little more than most photographers but that’s all you pay.  I’m not charging more for your prints than the print costs. You can buy them directly from my site or you can take the disk that is part of your session fee and print anywhere. Does this mean I won’t have albums or other custom pieces? I consider these extras, but they are available.

So, what does this mean for you? Your session fee will include a disk now that has web ready and print resolution images. There are still copies online for your convenience to share with family and to print from a professional printing company.

This was a very fun shoot! I’ll make a point to post more from it when they’re ready.

That’s right I’ve been working on getting the webpage off the ground. So far it’s still in its infancy but I hope to soon have it all fleshed out and looking good. By the way, I’m still booking free sessions, all you pay for are prints.  If you book before the special ends you still get the free session.

I want to congratulate Andrew and Letesha, they have a beautiful family and it’s about to get a little bigger! Also, thank you to both of them for allowing me to photograph them, it was a joy.
